HEALING HERBS
Every
society has relied on the
healing power of herbs to
treat illness, and in Indian and
Chinese cultures, herbal medicines still prevail.
Interests
in medicinal herbs has grown
dramatically in recent years.. Consumers
now have wide variety of
herbal supplements to choose
from to help prevent and
treat many diseases, including
heart disease, cancer, arthritis,
low immunity, depression, common
colds, and menopausal concerns.
Many
people think of herbs as
medicine used only by
alternative practitioners who do
not use conventional medical
practices. But in fact herbal
medicine is a precursor of
modern pharmacology.. About one-
fourth of all prescription
medicines come from herbs and
other plants. And many
physicians and researchers are
taking a new look at
traditional herbal remedies.
It
is also able to touch all
symptoms of something that need
to come to balance: mental,
emotional, physical, spiritual.
Anything that goes on in
the mind also goes on in
the body, and anything goes
on in the body also is
reflected in the mind.
For
example , emotional agitation
and overwhelm is often expressed
in an agitated and overwhelmed
digestive system, or a red
hot angry blister may often
be reflected by a red hot
angry mood. It does not
act as a drug that can
force a state of consciousness
upon you. As we become more ourselves and have
less need for symptoms. We also
become more able to embody
our inherent wisdom and more
able to nourish ourselves.
