Huichol Yarn Art ~ The Huichol Indians have used decorative art pieces as offerings to the Gods for centuries. These inspired pieces of art are created with colorful yarns painstakingly placed on a beeswax and pine resin mixture that was spread on a wooden base. Along with the artists signature on the back this piece the artist has written... in Spanish... an explanation of the symbolism of the art. The Indians work their spiritual symbols and designs into each piece. Measures approximately 7.75 inches tall by 7.75 inch wide. Handcrafted in Mexico.

Mexico Trivia

Chile peppers have been a part of the human diet in the Americas since about 7500 BC. They were domesticated there between 5200 and 3400 BC, one of the first cultivated crops in the Americas. Chile peppers are thought to have been domesticated at least five times by prehistoric peoples in different parts of South and Middle America, from Peru in the south to Mexico in the north.
